Landfill Closure Plan, cover system design, plans and specifications, construction supervision and post closure monitoring. STERLING obtained NYSDEC approval for Mandate Relief Variances allowing deletion of the gas vent layer and one half the thickness of the barrier protection layer of the final cover. STERLING also secured approval for placement of more than 20,000 cubic yards of demolition debris for rough grading purposes. These approvals reduced the actual closure cost by more than 50% of the original estimate. STERLING currently conducts monitoring well sampling and explosive gas surveys, analyze the results and submit a progress report to the NYSDEC on an annual basis. Additionally, STERLING developed EQBA Grant Applications as well as assisted the Town in securing a SRF Low Interest Loan for the landfill closure.
