Sterling Environmental Engineering, P.C. (STERLING), a professional corporation founded by Mark P. Millspaugh, P.E. in July 1993, is in its second generation of family ownership with Andrew M. Millspaugh, P.E. joining as Vice President in 2017. STERLING provides a wide range of environmental consulting and professional engineering services to the public and private sectors. STERLING works as a value-added team member with our public and private clients by assisting them navigate the regulatory system and completing their projects in an environmentally sound manner, on time, and within budget.

For every project, we think of each client as a business partner and seek to understand their vision and desired outcome. Because of our agile size and business philosophy, we continually look for, suggest, and implement innovative solutions and strategies to address environmental challenges.

STERLING is located at 24 Wade Road, Latham, New York, convenient to both the Central Office of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and the NYSDEC Region 4 office.

STERLING manages projects involving solid and hazardous waste management, permitting and compliance, brownfield redevelopment, third-party cost estimates, environmental impact analysis, site investigations and remedial plans, construction management, expert testimony, litigation support, and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) cost recovery.
